| The notices may be inserted
over several days, but only the first entry date is shown. Where
subsequent notices provide further information, then the entry is updated
accordingly.
The Wellington paper is entered daily without
fail, while the others are loaded as and when they arrive and I have time
to enter them.
For example, if someone died in Wanganui, the
death notice was published in the Wanganui paper, but not the Wellington
paper. But some people travelled from Wellington to the funeral, and
there is a Thanks/Acknowledgement published in the Wellington newspaper
(as well as the Wanganui paper).
I will see the Wellington notice first and enter
the record from that Thanks/Acknowledgement notice. Later, when the
Wanganui paper arrives, I will update that record with any new data that
is in the Wanganui notice - like age, DOB, etc. Sometimes there is
no other notice (you will see "ACK only" in the Comments) - these people
may have come from outside the 3 regions, but there were Wellington people
at the funeral.
If the deceased person comes from a Taranaki
family, then there may well be notices published in the Taranaki paper,
which provides more information - Maiden Name for example.
So a death record is a
composite that could have come from multiple notices placed in all 3
papers.
I do not have time to enter notices multiple times
with page references - my objective is to provide pointers to help people
with research. |
